How to take a screenshot and post it
« on: November 26, 2010, 04:29:27 pm »
Hey everyone! Stefenatefun here with some helpful tips that can do anything from report people, to take pics of strippers over webcams ;)

Step One)
Get LightShot here.
You should see this screen:

Step Two)
Select "Desktop Application"
"setup-lightshot-1.3.0.15.exe" will download.  You might have to allow popups for this to happen.
Select "Run" and follow the instructions to install LightShot.

Step Three)
Take a screenshot on a PC by pressing the "PrtScn" key, it might have "SysRq" under it.
Take a creenshot on a Mac by pressing the command key, the control, the shift key, and the 3 key.
If you have installed LightShot correctly, a darkened screen will appear.  Select the portion of the screen you want to take a screenshot of.  When you select the portion of the screen, you will see the size in the upper-left hand corner, 2 icons to the right, one for Twitter, one for FaceBook.  On the bottom you will see 6 icons.  Each one obviously does something different.
- Edit Online (Ctrl+E)
If you select this, then you are brought to a webpage with your selection and allows you to edit the photo however you want.
- Upload (Ctrl+D)
If you select this then your selection is uploaded.  In the bottom-right hand corner of your screen, there will be a window that shows how much your screenshot has uploaded, this usually takes 3-5 seconds for me.  When it's done uploading, a link will appear and there will be a button that says "Copy".  The link is then copied to your clipboard.
[No image yet] - Fullscreen (Ctrl+F)
If you select this, then the entire screen is selected, but isn't uploaded, saved, etc.
- Copy (Ctrl+C)
If you select this, your selection will go into your clipboard but will not be uploaded.
- Save (Ctrl+S)
If you select this, your screen selection will be saved.  The default name will be "Screenshot_x" with "x" starting at 1 and adding by 1 each time you save a screenshot by the default name.
[No image yet] - Close (Ctrl+X)
If you select this, the program will close and do nothing else.

Step Four)
NOTE: Skip this step if you don't want to post the screenshot in a forum or website.
Go here to upload your screenshot.
What you will encounter:
Link: A shortcut link to your photo
Direct Link: The direct link to your photo
Widget Code: Have not figured this out yet, sorry.
Forum Code: The code to use on forums
Alt Forum Code: Have not figured this out yet, sorry.
HTML Code: To use in a website or other object that uses HTML code.
HOPE THIS HELPED!! :)
Please feel free to comment if you have a question or aren't sure about something.
This guide might slightly get outdated because the program does update, although I am not sure how frequently.
